At SEOpie, our first approach on any new project is a full analysis of your website, including any and all forms of off-site exposure (including backlinks, forum or blog posts, reviews, ect.). We do this so that we can get a full overview of exactly where your site is, in terms of on-site optimisation, how it got there, with regards to any external links elsewhere on the internet, and how we can proceed in the future.
This step is vital in understanding what needs to be done to your site to enable it to organically improve its rankings. We need to know what is holding you back, and whether any past issues are causing it to be viewed negatively by search engine bots.
If you have hired an individual or company to take on optimisation or online marketing projects for you in the past, we will be able to analyse the impact of the work and how it has affected your search ranking position.
Once the analysis is complete, we will provide you with a detailed report on our findings, including a summary or the primary issues we are concerned with, or believe to be important, and also a suggested plan of action to give your site the opportunity to improve.
It is worth noting here that while you can find companies whom offer guaranteed results within weeks by offering a certain number of backlinks, social bookmarks or ‘Web 2.0’, it is highly advised that you avoid these ‘SEO quick fixes’, as they will do more harm than good in the long run.
When the analysis is complete, and you have agreed for us to go ahead with site optimisation, we can then begin to look at a strategy for site optimisation. The first step to this is keyword research. Keyword research is the process of determining a certain phrase to focus on when carrying out site optimisation. When a user types a certain phrase into a search engine, we want your site to be the first site in the search results. The keyword phrase we choose to focus on must relate strongly to your product or service. There is a detailed guide to keyword research in our infobase, here.
We also look at other ways we can develop your site to target those keywords, such as improving current content and developing new, engaging and relevant content. We will also look at internal and external links, page loading speeds, analyse what pages are performing better than others and why, develop custom 404 pages and such and try to create a site with usability in mind, as well as SEO.
We then will then go about developing your site based on the strategy we have co-devised. It’s important to note that this doesn’t mean that we will go through your site removing vital information. In most cases the website layout will not change. Normally, our work includes adapting the HTML code, adding a few important pieces of information to various areas of your site, and creating content to attract visitors and search engine bots’ attention, rather than a complete overhaul.
If you have yet to do so, we will also implement visual tracking software so that you are able to view the results of the improvements we have made in terms of search engine visibility.
Once we have completed the optimisation process, depending on how you would like us to proceed, we can then drop-back and offer advice as to where you go from there or we can continue to develop your website fully, on an on-going basis; developing online exposure and building links as necessary to succeed.
We offer not only a 1 time service, but, if necessary, a continual month-on-month development of your online presence, resulting in a well-established and stable platform for long-term site growth. Get in touch with us to discuss what you think your site needs and what we can offer.
